I've been playing with a music editor lately so I created this site to host the files.
I'm Not Your President-A sample from a street performer in Munich led to this one.
Baddest of the Strong-A little ode to the internet's greatest criminal mastermind/compulsive emailer. If you don't know who Strong Bad is, it might
help to read some of his email.
The Lore-Ley is a famous poem by Heinrich Heine about the siren who lures boatmen to their doom on the rocks on the Rhein. I was just
playing with the drum loops and thought it sounded like poetry music, so I sought out a poem. Text and English translation
here.
Hellride.
Wesley Willis, for those of you who don't know, was a 6'5" 350-pound schizophrenic black man from Chicago. He put out something
like 50 albums of songs he wrote and sang, sort of, over the default beat of a Casio keyboard. While his songs may not have
been good in the traditional sense, they were certainly interesting and it was great to see him live his dream of being a
rock 'n' roll star. He died in late 2003 of leukemia.
My roommate's girlfriend sent him a documentary film about Wesley for his birthday. By watching it I learned more about Wesley
and the way he thought. If Wesley was happy, he had a Joyride. If he was not happy, he faced the dreaded Hellride. This
piece is about Wesley and the Hellride. As far as the quality of music goes, let's just say it's in the spirit of Wesley Willis.
